Real Madrid are ready to throw the kitchen sink at trying to keep Sergio Ramos, after they decided to offer the defender the same amount that Manchester United have proposed.
According to The Sun, the 29-year-old is considering leaving the Bernabeu this summer, over their failure to offer fresh and improved terms. And The Sun suggest that it was Louis van Gaal’s side that were leading the race as they were willing to offer the Spain international £200,000 a week.
The Sun report however, that the Premier League side are aware that they may be being used to help Ramos get a new deal at the Bernabeu.
Should that be his motivation, it appears that his plan may be about to work, as The Sun report that the Spanish giants will now match United’s offer, making him one of the highest paid players at the club, along with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.
