Anthony Martial leaves France squad to sign Man United contract, French Football Federation confirm

The French Football Federation have confirmed that Monaco striker Anthony Martial has been granted special permission to leave Didier Deschamps’ squad to go and sign a contract with Manchester United.

The Metro previously reported that the Red Devils had initially had a bid of £36.2m turned down by the Ligue 1 side, however, the Monaco hierarchy appear to have changed their minds, and are now willing to let the 19-year-old move to Old Trafford.

And while there may have been concerns that his first call-up to the national side may have scuppered a move – had Martial decided to ignore the interest from Louis van Gaal’s side to concentrate on impressing the national team coach – it appears that Deschamps is more than happy to let the forward complete the Premier League switch.

And while the former Chelsea midfielder is happy to let Martial complete his move, his desire to get him back in the squad as soon as possible should give United fans the confidence that a deal should be completed in the very near future.
