Arsenal have reportedly been told that they can sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, as long as they make an offer worth £35m, according to the Metro.
That could see the Gunners make an attempt to bring the Uruguayan international to the Emirates instead. The 28-year-old has previously fallen out with manager Laurent Blanc (via Telegraph), so it may not be a difficult task to convince him to move elsewhere.
However, the Ligue 1 champions will probably want to hold off a move until a replacement is signed. His strike-partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been told that he is free to leave Parc des Princes during this window (via Daily Mail), and while Sergio Aguero has been linked (via Metro), Cavani could well be kept hold of until a marquee name arrives.
