Barcelona prospect reportedly set for Liverpool medical

Barcelona youngster Adama Traore is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Liverpool, according to the Metro.

Representatives from the Anfield outfit had travelled out to Spain to try and make a deal happen for the 19-year-old, the Metro report, and it appeared that they were in the driving seat to get the winger.

However, their hopes of landing the prospect looked like they may have been dashed when their neighbours tried to sneak in and use their good relationship with the Catalan giants to bring Traore to Goodison Park (via Metro).

But, it appears that it is the red side of Merseyside that is set to win the battle for his signature, providing that everything goes smoothly during his reported medical.

Brendan Rodgers has been extremely busy this summer, as he tries to banish the painful memories of how last season finished. The Reds have made several high-profile signings as they try to complement the talent already at the club.

With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke, and James Milner in the bag, it appears that he has switched his attention from bolstering his options for the opening clash of the new Premier League season against Stoke, and has instead decided to go after the kind of talent that promises a lot of potential.
