Former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles is reportedly in talks with Tottenham about a possible return to the Premier League, according to the Metro.
The Portuguese only made 23 top flight appearances for Fenerbahce last season, so may be open to a return to England after three years away.
He proved during his spells at Anfield and Stamford Bridge that he offers some versatility which would prove useful to Pochettino, who rarely strayed from a 4-2-3-1 system last season. While Meireles would be more accustomed to featuring as one of the two players that sit just in front of the defence, he is equally capable of being part of the trio that sit just off the striker.
While the Spurs manager currently has a lot of young options to call upon in that part of the pitch, he may feel more confident turning to someone who has plenty of Premier League experience.
