Liverpool set to win race to sign Barcelona youngster Adama Traore

Liverpool look set to win the race to sign Barcelona youngster Adama Traore, according to the Metro.

The Metro report that Stoke City and Aston Villa have also been interested in signing the 19-year-old, and met with Traore to discuss a possible move.

However, the Reds are the ones that look set to get his signature, after the Metro reported that he decided he wanted a move to Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers will be able to complete the move for the winger once the Merseyside club trigger his release clause, which the Metro report to be just £4.2m.

While Liverpool fans had probably grown tired of hearing about signings that showed potential in the past, their dealings during this window have allowed for Rodgers to bring in a couple of promising youngsters like Joe Gomez, and now possibly Traore.

They have signed several more established names, such as James Milner and Christian Benteke, which will take a lot of the pressure off the prospects as they don’t need to succeed straight away. They are able to learn from the experienced members of the side, in preparation for when their moment does come along.
