Chelsea are preparing to make an offer that will finally see Juventus star Paul Pogba complete a move to Stamford Bridge, according to the Metro.
The former Manchester United man has been on Jose Mourinho’s radar since he returned to the Premier League two years ago, and the Special One is hoping to conclude a deal for the 22-year-old when the January transfer window opens (via Metro).
However, the Frenchman is unsurprisingly attracting the attention of several of Europe’s biggest clubs – with the Daily Star reporting that Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are all keen on a deal – which may mean that the Blues have to pay well over Juve’s £73m valuation (via Metro) if a bidding war ensues.
The Metro suggest however, that the champions were in advanced talks with the midfielder in the summer, which may give them an advantage in negotiations. With just a month to get a move done – perhaps with some of that time being taken up by Pogba deciding where he wishes to go – Chelsea will already have an idea of what it will take to get a deal across the line so could be further along in the process than their rivals.
