Manchester United sensationally turned down the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, according to the Daily
The Red Devils made an enquiry regarding the 26-year-old while working with the Bundesliga side on the deal that saw Adnan Januzaj head to the Westfalenstadion on a season-long loan, but rejected the opportunity to cement their interest with a bid when they were told that it would take £60m to sign the Germany international (via Star).
Frustratingly for United supporters, the Star suggest that the Red Devils were only willing to pay £50m for the former Borussia Monchengladbach playmaker.
Had United been willing to pay the extra £10m that would have sealed a move, it would have surely been one of the biggest deals of the summer, and seen a transfer window of very contrasting emotions for the Old Trafford outfit end on an extremely positive note.
Unfortunately however, Louis van Gaal’s side passed on the opportunity to bring one of the best players in Europe currently to the Premier League.
