Dinamo Zagreb’s Arijan Ademi fails drugs test after Arsenal Champions League clash

Dinamo Zagreb have confirmed that Arijan Ademi failed a drugs test after defeating Arsenal in the Champions League earlier this season, the Metro reports.

UEFA are now said to be launching an investigation into the incident after the 34-year-old’s positive test on September 16 (via Metro).

Dinamo have said that they “can not comment on the duration of the disciplinary proceedings” (via Dinamo’s official site).

As yet, it is not known whether the side will be docked points or face any serious sanctions as a result of the test.

In a statement, the club also said: “Our players have been regularly subjected to doping controls for years after European and league games, and never has anything like this ever happened, so that we have to say that we are surprised by this result.

“Arijan Ademi was tested six times in the last year and each time the report was negative.”
