Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang beat Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure to win the Confederation of African Football’s player of the year award, as reported by the BBC.

Toure said he was “quite disappointed” but praised “brilliant” Aubameyang. The Manchester City midfielder had been crowned Africa’s best player four years running.
“I’m very happy and content,” said Aubameyang. “I don’t cry very often, but this is a very emotional moment. If you beat players like Touré and Ayew, I must be very proud. I’ve worked very hard, but I have to keep working to defend my title next year. ”
The striker also spoke about a possible move away from Dortmund. “I don’t want to go to Arsenal. I won’t leave Dortmund soon.”
