Thierry Henry: “It’s a four-way battle for the Premier League crown”

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes it will be a four-way battle for Premier League crown this season.

Following the weekend’s results, the top four teams are separated by only four points, and Henry admits that Tottenham are very much in the title race.

He told Sky Sports’ Super Sunday:

“Now, Tottenham, coming from nowhere, are two points behind Arsenal and nobody has been talking so much about them winning the title. Now, they are well in it. It’s a four-team race for the title.

“They are in it. They are two points away from Man City and Arsenal with +22 goal difference. Arsenal have to go to the Lane. I never thought I would have said it, but they are in it.”

Henry also admitted that Sunday’s loss to Chelsea could have serious ramifications for Arsenal’s title bid. The Gunners are now without a win in their last nine league games against the Blues.

“It’s always the same thing,” he added. “There’s always a big expectation when Arsenal play Chelsea. Can they finally beat them? And again it’s Diego Costa and Chelsea having the last laugh.

“It’s difficult to point to things after the sending off because it’s always going to be difficult, but they didn’t start the game well enough to be able to get on top.

“Is this defeat going to have a massive impact on the title race? Yes, it is in a way because you still didn’t beat Chelsea but on the other side, no-one is really capitalising or taking advantage of mistakes from other teams.”

Leicester are leading the Premier League table after 23 matches. The Foxes have gained 47 points, scoring 42 goals, with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez hitting the net 29 times. They have also lost just twice all season.

Manchester City and Arsenal are sharing second place, with 44 points each. The Citizens feature the best attack, scoring a league leading 45 goals.

Tottenham are in fourth place with 42 points, boosting the best Premier League defence, having conceded only 19 goals up untill this points.

The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are further back, not able to make a run for the title so far.
