Remember Jermaine Jenas? Well, he has finally announced his retirement from football.
It has been almost two years since the former England international last played professional football, and today he officially conceded defeat in his struggle against the troublesome knee injury.
The 32-year-old last played for QPR and ruptured his cruciate ligament during a training session in April 2014. He started his career at Nottingham Forest and played for the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham before finally landing with the Rangers.
“I have officially retired. I tried my best to come back from the knee injury but unfortunately that is the end of my career,” the midfielder told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
He was already a forgotten man and his announcement took many football fans by surprise.
