Liverpool eyeing surprise striker after seeing monster bid for star rejected

Jurgen Klopp is pushing to land an extra striker during this transfer window, with Livepool now eyeing Bilbao’s Inaki Williams, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Reds boss is a huge admirer of the Spaniard and is reportedly desperate to push through a deal, according to Metro. Williams has a £15.2 million release clause in his contract, but Klopp is willing to pay up.

However, Liverpool are face competition from Arsenal, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger also being a big fan of the 21-year-old, who has scored six La Liga goals in 15 appearances this season while also hitting twice in the Europa League and Copa del Rey.

On top, Bilbao are not keen to sell Williams as the Spain Under-21 international is an academy graduate.

More news from Liverpool. The Reds made a transfer bid for Juventus’ Alvaro Morata. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and as reported by Football-Italia, it is believed to be around £45.8 million.

The Old Lady rejected it immediately as they are not ready to sell the Spaniard, despite him scoring just once this Serie A season. However, this could change during the summer, as Juventus are keen on PSG’s Edinson Cavani and could use Morata’s transfer money to fund a bid. Tottenham is also said to be interested in Morata.
