Alexandre Pato to walk in the footsteps of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba

Chelsea have assigned the Premier League squad numbers to the January signings, according to The Daily Mail.

Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has been handed the number 11, and he will have a huge responsibility to live up to the reputation of the squad number made famous by club legend Didier Drogba.

Defender Matt Miazga will don the number 20 jersey. This number has remained unoccupied since midfielder Josh McEachran wore it during the 2011-12 season, but it has been donned by the likes of Deco, Paulo Ferreira, Juan Sebastian Veron and Jody Morris in the past.

Meanwhile, number 11 has been donned by Oscar, Damien Duff, Boudewijn Zenden and Dennis Wise in the past.

Pato, who has arrived in a loan deal from Brazilian club Corinthians, used to wear number 7 during his time with AC
Milan. However, he switched to number 11 during his loan spell with Sao Paulo.

Both players will take part in team training at Cobham base on Tuesday, and will be in the squad to face Watford at Vicarage Stadium on Wednesday evening.
