Manchester United’s favourite son Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way back to Old Trafford in 2018.
The Red Devils have tried to re-sign their former player on numerous occasions in the past, and now it seems that a reunion might finally be on the cards.
The 31-year old recently admitted that he intends to see out the two years left on his contract with the Spanish giants, but a move to the Premier League might be possible in the near future.
At a recent award ceremony, he said:
“This is the best league in the world, although I was in the Premier League.
“It’s great, competitive, with great players. It is a privilege to leave my mark on it.
“I want to stay here two more years. And in the future, we’ll see. The two years of which I speak are listed in my contract.”
The Portugal international spent six years at Old Trafford before sealing a world record £80 million transfer to Santiago Bernabeu in 2009.
The two-times FIFA Ballon d’Or winner won three Premier League titles and one Champions League title during his time with United.
Since moving to Real Madrid, he has further added one La Liga title and one Champions League title to his trophy haul.
