Tottenham are aiming to finally claim a top four finish in the Premier League, and defender Toby Alderweireld has now revealed what’s the secreat to their success, according to The
The Spurs beat Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road, with Dele Alli hitting the back of the net after just two minutes, scoring his seventh goals of the season. Not bad for a 20-year-old.
After that, it was time for Harry Kane to add to his goal scoring total. The English international converted a penalty kick after 30 minutes and scored again in the game’s dying seconds.
The 22-year-old has now registered 15 league goals, joining Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Watford’s Idion Ighalo in second place.
The Spurs are up to third place in the table with 45 points, surpassing struggling Arsenal, with the Gunners drawing 0-0 against Southampton and being without a win since January 2 (1-0 against Newcastle).
Leicester City are five points ahead and Manchester City are in second place with 47 points. Still, Alderweireld believes Tottenham has a chance to go far this season, revealing the secret to their success.
“The manager only puts the guys in who work very hard and that’s why a lot of guys have left the club,” the 26-year-old said according to the Star’s report.
“He only wants the guys who work hard and if you don’t follow that path then you don’t belong at Tottenham.
Physically we are all 100 per cent. We can run all day and that’s the way we always want to play.”
The Belgian centre-back also praised his team-mates for their great togetherness.
“We all want to achieve something this season and that shows on the pitch. We have a lot of confidence and we believe we can beat everybody but that is self belief, not arrogance.”
