Chelsea star set for China move

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has been linked with a move to China, according to latest reports.

The 28-year old has enjoyed a resurgence in his career following the arrival of Guus Hiddink, and it was recently reported that the Blues are set to offer him a new contract at the club.

However, according to Evening Standard, Mikel is now considering a move to the Chinese Super League as future manager Antonio Conte plans to bring Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba to Stamford Bridge.

Mikel will not be the first Chelsea player to move to the Far East. His former teammate Ramires moved to China during the January transfer window, while Oscar and Radamel Falcao have also been approached by Chinese clubs.

The Nigeria international is said to be on the wishlist of at least three Chinese clubs, including Jiangsu and Shanghai SIPG.

He has only one year left on his current contract with Chelsea. He will stand to earn a significant pay raise on his current £70,000-a-week wage if moves to China.
