United eyeing Juventus and PSG stars, City leading race for German playmaker and Arsenal talent

Despite having let the midfielder go on a free transfer in 2012, Manchester United are lining up a bid to sign Paul Pogba during the summer.

Juventus are said to value the 22-year-old midfielder at around £62 million, while the Red Devils are facing competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and as reported by Metro.

Meanwhile, according to Turin news outlet Tuttosport Juventus continue to monitor Mario Gotze’s situation at Bayern Munich, as the Germany international was linked with a move to Turin last summer.

Gotze wants more regular first team football and could move this summer. However, the Bundesliga champions want £30 million for their player, who is also wanted heavily by Liverpool.

Back to United. Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is “utterly convinced” he will be a Manchester United player next season, so much so that he is planning for life in England with former boss Jose Mourinho, according to The Sun.

The 34-year-old has bagged 136 goals in 166 appearances for PSG since moving to the French capital in 2012 and is seen as an outstanding short-term option for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City director Txiki Begiristain met with Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan’s agent in Amsterdam to discuss a potential move to the Etihad during the summer transfer window, according to Goal.com.

The German international has refused to sign a contract extention at the Bundesliga club. The midfielder’s current deal expires in June 2017 and Dortmund have been trying to extend it all season long. City now looks to have taken the lead, with Juventus and Barcelona also keen on adding Gundogan.

Last, Guardiola also wants Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign for the Citizens next season, having been impressed by the England international when the Gunners faced Bayern Munich, according to The Times.
