Everton forward Romelu Lukaku has attracted a lot of interest this season due to his superb goalscoring for the Merseyside club.
The Belgian international was recently heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, and the Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that the club hold an interest in the striker.
Manchester Evening News quoted the Dutchman ahead of the Premier League clash with Everton at Old Trafford: “He (Lukaku) is very interesting. When you score a lot of goals, you are always a potential candidate for clubs. Football is like that.
“When you look at scoring goals and making assists, he (Lukaku) does that at the highest level in the Premier League. But I think every club in the world is comparing strikers.”
Recent reports have suggested that Jose Mourinho, who is favourite to take charge of the Red Devils in the summer, wants the Manchester club to sign Lukaku in the summer.
The player himself recently hinted at a move away from the Merseyside club by claiming that he wants to play for a Champions League club next season, with his father linking United and Bayern Munich.
The 22-year old forward, who has scored 25 goals and provided six assists this season, signed for the Toffees in the club record £28 million move from Chelsea in 2014.
He has also been linked with moves to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
