Chelsea want Serie A striker to replace Diego Costa

Chelsea are willing to let go of striker Diego Costa in the summer, according to famous Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

He writes in Spanish newspaper AS that incoming manager Antonio Conte is ready to let go of Costa if the Blues manage to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli during the summer transfer window.

The Spain international has struggled with disciplinary problems this season in the Premier League and according to Balague he wants to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

His previous club Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in bringing him back to the Vicente Calderon, while an unnamed club from Chinese Super League has also offered him a very lucrative offer.

Meanwhile, Higuain has enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in Serie A. He has scored 33 league goals in 34 appearances for the Naples club this season.

He is the first player to reach that figure since Antonio Valentín Angelillo did it during 1958/59 season. The 28-year-old is expected to cost around £38 million to the West London club.
