Liverpool suffered a heart-breaking 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
The Merseyside club were the favourites to lift the trophy ahead of the game, but a solid second-half from the La Liga club coupled with a poor defensive performance from the Reds handed the third consecutive Europa League title to Sevilla.
Alberto Moreno, who moved to Liverpool from Sevilla in 2014, in particular, drew ire of the fans because of his horrible performance.

Liverpool would have been better with Dan Marino in defence instead of Alberto Moreno tonight !!

Aside from Alberto Moreno being the world’s worst footballer, it was poor that a 35-year-old was our best player by a mile tonight.

Alberto Moreno is a particularly comical footballer. His every move should be accompanied by the Benny Hill theme music.

In years to come, it will transpire that Alberto Moreno was a double agent.

Hope God forgives me for rating Moreno. I’ve seen the light. Alberto Moreno is the worst LB of all time.

Alberto Moreno the worst player on the pitch by some. Absolutely horrendous. Can’t even pick up his own man.

Alberto Moreno comes from that era when everyone left their doors unlocked.

Alberto Moreno pulled an Alberto Moreno not once, not twice but three times for that goal. Impressive.
