Real Madrid secured their 11th Champions League trophy on Saturday, beating city rivals Atletico Madrid during a penalty shootout, with Cristiano Ronaldo hitting the decisive penalty kick.
A bunch of Los Blancos stars have been linked with transfer moves away from the Santiago Bernabeu, including Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Isco, and Karim Benzema. However, after their European triumph, a trio of Real Madrid stars dealt some serious blows to teams interested in their services.
Rodriguez remained on the bench during Real’s Champions League win this weekend and has been frustrated by a lack of playing time under coach Zinedine Zidane, but he insisted he wants to stay at the club for many years, according to Sky Sports.
The Colombian has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, while Serie A champions Juventus are also keen to add the 24-year-old, who joined Real in 2014 for £56.3 million.
In addition, Benzema also insisted he wants to stay with the La Liga giants, according to Sky Sports. The French striker has been linked with United and Arsenal after scoring 28 goals in all competitions for Los Blancos.
“I am happy here and I hope to be here for many years,” Benzema said. “I thank the people in Madrid for being there for me and my family. Thanks to everybody because they are part of my life and we are going to be used to winning titles.”
Isco also expressed his desire to stay, despite being heavily linked with a move away from the club, according to The Daily Star. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Juventus have shown interest in the 24-year-old, who has been unable to force his way into Real’s starting eleven since joining them in 2013 from Malaga in a £22.5 million transfer.
“I hope to stay. If the club wants me here, I will stay,” the Spain international said.
