Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a shocking move for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
According to French publication Le 10 Sport, the Paris club are ready to offer £45 million for the services of the Brazilian.
The report claims that following their failed attempts to sign the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Eden Hazard (Chelsea) and Neymar (Barcelona), PSG have turned their focus to their plan B, meaning Coutinho, who has become a fan favourite at Anfield following his £8.5 million move from Inter Milan in January 2013.
The 23-year-old has scored 28 goals for the Merseysiders in 145 appearances in all competitions. He is an integral part of the current Liverpool side and is very highly regarded by manager Jurgen Klopp. At the moment, it seems unfathomable that the Reds will allow him to leave this summer.
However, it has been proven time and time again in football that every player has a price and £45 million is a considerable amount for a player like Coutinho.
If they decide to sign Coutinho, PSG will have to sell either of Lucas Moura or Maxwell because of a limited number of non-EU players allowed in their squad.
