Chelsea star Eden Hazard is ‘on the cusp’ of agreeing a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to a report in The Sun this morning.
Last week it was reported that moves had begun to bring the Belgian to the Bernabeu, but those links appear to have grown over the weekend, and an agreement for a summer transfer could be found this week. It is thought a fee of £100m will be accepted.
Hazard, 28, has been linked with a Stamford Bridge in the last two close seasons, but this time Madrid seem keen to push the boat out, as they search for a new Galactico, after a disappointing La Liga season that sees them currently 3rd in the league, and Gareth Bale taking criticism from fans for failing to fill the boots of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hazard’s form has improved markedly since the departure of Jose Mourinho and introduction of Maurizio Sarri, however despite his 14 league goals this term, the Blues remain just outside of the Champions League places in 5th.
