Newcastle were the biggest spenders during the winter transfer window, with all Premier League clubs spending a total of £186.4 million in January, according to The Daily Mail. The Magpies brought Jonjo Shelvey, Andros Townsend and Henri Saivet to St. James’ Park, spending a total of £28.5m on those three players, while also landing Seydou Doumbia on loan from Italian giants AS Roma. There’s no touching Chelsea when it comes to spending money during the winter transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
