Allardyce rules out West Ham move for Bridge

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has doused rumours he will be making a loan bid for City’s unfavoured full-back Wayne Bridge.

Roberto Mancini chose not to include the 31-year-old defender in his 25-man squad for the season and is believed to be willing to allow the player to go out on loan. Bridge had been linked to both Newcastle and SPL’s Celtic during the summer though neither club came in for the player. Allardyce, who was appointed manager of the Hammers in June, has said he is happy with the squad and has no need to recruit any more players. Speaking to the People he said: “We have filled our squad with all the players we need for the time being and we have a squad that is good and has strength in depth.”
