Two Scottish managers face up to each other in the Reebok Stadium dugout as Owen Coyle’s Bolton host David Moyes’ Everton.
Bolton are hopeful that defender Dedryck Boyata can return from an ankle injury that has kept him out for a month. Injuries to defenders Joe Riley, Ricardo Gardner and forward Daniel N’Gog stop them from taking part in the Saturday fixture. Last time out, Coyle’s side were beaten 2-1 away at West Bromwich Albion largely thanks to a lacklustre second half showing. Trotters fans will be hoping for another home performance like their 5-0 drubbing of Stoke three weeks ago.
Everton have once again started slowly to the season and with rumour surrounding the club of a takeover, they did their talking on the pitch with a 2-1 win at home to Wolves. Tim Cahill is expected to start in what would be his 250th game for the club, but the worrying start is that the once prolific Aussie has failed to score in 11 months. Jack Rodwell should be back in contention after injuring his rib on England duty and Phil Neville faces a fitness test on his hamstring strain.
Bolton’s last two home games with Everton have resulted in success for the Whites and Coyle’s men should be able to put their defeat last weekend aside and win. The Toffees will offer stern resistance however in a tight encounter in Lancashire.
