Skrtel loves Liverpool away days

Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel has revealed that he thrives on making tough trips away from home in English football, liverpoolfc.tv reports.

The Liverpool centre-back has stated the appetite he holds for travelling to notoriously difficult away grounds looking to get a result. Skrtel has spoken about the joy he got from defeating Stoke at the Britannia Stadium recently and is looking forward to more big games.

Skrtel said: ‘As everyone knows, going there is very difficult. They are so dangerous, even from a throw-in near the halfway line, they cause you problems. For me though, I like those type of games. You have to battle and fight and be strong for the entire 90 minutes.

‘In English football, you get very little time on the ball, away from home sometimes you don’t even get a single second. Almost every team has at least one big striker. I enjoy competing against them, challenging and making tackles’, the 26 year old added.
