Tottenham tracking Celtic winger Forrest

BBC Sport reports that Tottenham are keeping an eye on the progress of young Celtic winger James Forrest.

Ian Broomfield, chief scout at Spurs, was at Parkhead last weekend to watch Forrest in his side’s goalless draw with Hibernian, and now Harry Redknapp has confirmed he is monitoring the 20-year-old.

“We have had good reports of what obviously is a good player,” said Redknapp. “But he belongs to Celtic and that’s as far as it’s gone.

“I haven’t seen the boy play. I have seen him on TV and bits and pieces, but I would want to see him in a couple of games if I was ever going to do anything.”

Forrest enjoyed a successful breakthrough season for Celtic during the 2010-11 campaign, and made his international debut in May of this year.
