Burnley striker Danny Ings scored a penalty late in the second-half as Sean Dyche’s side rescued a point against Aston Villa at Turf Moor, reports BBC
Aston Villa were the dominant side in the first-half. Gabriel Agbonlahor and Joe Cole were linking up well on the pitch, creating a host of opportunities. The Midlands outfit just couldn’t make their attacking play count early on in the game.
But minutes before the break, Joe Cole did manage to break the deadlock, after poking home a squared pass from Andreas Weimann. The second-half saw Burnley come back into the game, with the Villans having to ride a spell of pressure from the hosts.
They fought back and pushed for a decisive second goal, but couldn’t break through the Burnley backline. Villa were ultimately punished late on, with Jores Okore giving away a penalty late on. Danny Ings made no mistake from the spot to earn Burnley a share of the spoils.
