Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez is currently recovering from cancer treatment, but despite being out of favour prior to the news, manager Alan Pardew has said the Argentine has a future at St James’ Park, reports Sky
The 31-year-old was loaned out to Championship side Norwich City during the tail end of the last campaign after being deemed surplus to requirements for the North-East club, but the United boss has said he will bring Jonas back to the first-team in a few weeks.
“We’re pleased to have him back. Jonas is one of those people who livens up the training ground just with his personality, and obviously his illness has magnified that fact. He hasn’t been around much but he’s in pretty good shape and we are hoping that in two or three weeks he could be back in and around the first-team,” said Pardew.
