Daniele Rugani (Italy)
The 20-year-old had a lot of pressure piled upon him at the start of this season as he was made an integral part of Empoli’s defence, as they prepared for their first campaign in the top flight for seven years. And he rose to the challenge, playing in every single Serie A clash as the side stayed up. The Metro report that having been co-owned previously with Juventus, the Old Lady brought Empoli’s share in January. Nevertheless, the Metro suggest that he is free to leave Juventus Stadium this summer, should the right offer come in. Arsenal recently made a bid of £13m.
Will Hughes (England)
The midfielder has been one of the Championship’s most consistent performers over the past few years, and has been unfortunate that Derby County have yet to produce a squad capable of making it back into the Premier League, though they have come close. And while his potential has got plenty of top flight interested, it may be a good tournament that sees him become a top target. The Shields Gazette report that Steve McClaren wants to link up with the 20-year-old once again now he is manager of Newcastle, but they also suggest that Liverpool are interested.
