The 28-year-old has been Galatasaray’s first choice stopper since 2011 when he joined from Italian giants Lazio, and has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for the club.

His time in Turkey has been highly successful, as he has played his part in helping the Turkish big guns collect three Turkish Super Lig titles, two Turkish Cups and one Turkish Super Cup.

United boss Louis van Gaal is has reportedly already resigned himself to losing de Gea to Real Madrid this summer, and wants the Uruguayan international to take over custodial duties ahead of former Barca stopper Victor Valdes.

Muslera will likely cost the Red Devils around £15m, meaning they would be in profit should the £35m move for de Gea go through.
