Chris Smalling v Harry Kane
Much like Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa before him, many people will be wondering if Harry Kane is the real deal in the Premier League. He enjoyed a wonderful debut year, but he has become the focal point of Tottenham’s side, and thus much more will be expected of him. And despite Manchester United being linked with several defenders so far this summer, the most likely face in Louis van Gaal’s back four is surely Chris Smalling. The England man seemed to earn a trust from his boss that arguably none of the other defenders seemed to get, and so it would be little surprise – unless they do make additions – to see the former Fulham man trying to keep Kane quiet.
