Arsenal are said to be ready to go up against Italian giants Roma for the signature of starlet Egyptian attacker Ramadan Sobhy, according to the Metro.
Currently on the books of Al Ahly, the 21-year-old looks set for a move to Europe in the transfer window having been described as the ‘best young player in Africa’.
Serie A giants Roma are said to be keen on bringing him on board, but it now appears as though the Gunners are keen to jump the queue and bring him to north London instead.
The Gunners had invited the 18-year-old to a trial back in February, but the offer was knocked back by Al Ahly, with the Egyptians now saying that the FA Cup winners must bring some money to the table if they want to do business.
Having bagged seven goals in 22 games for Al Alhy, he has already been called up to the Egyptian national team and id being billed as a future legend for the north African country.
