Mesut Ozil – Arsenal
Ozil came in for some serious criticism during the first half of the season as he displayed an obvious fatigue after winning the World Cup, something that was further exasperated with a long term injury before Christmas.
However, upon his return, he showed the rest of the Premier League exactly what he’s all about by putting in a string of top performances to help secure a third place finish and a successful defence of their FA Cup title. This year he’ll be expected to continue that form more consistently.
