Man City vs Chelsea confirmed line-ups: Asmir Begovic set for first start, but Oscar misses out

Following Chelsea’s lacklustre display against Swansea, and Manchester City’s impressive performance against West Brom, today’s game at the Etihad is being touted as a real indicator of who will dictate the pace of this year’s Premier League.

Jose Mourinho was already without Thibaut Courtois for the clash – after the Belgian’s appeal against his red card on the opening day was unsuccessful – but Brazilian playmaker Oscar is also out due to a knock he received in training.

Former Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic is set to make his first start for the Blues, while Ramires comes in for his countryman, leaving Cesc Fabregas to move into a more advanced role alongside Eden Hazard and Willian.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini is able to welcome last season’s top goalscorer Sergio Aguero back into the starting eleven, with Wilfried Bony dropping to the bench. Raheem Sterling keeps his place in the side after making his debut against West Brom.
