Arsenal appear to be drawing up a list of potential striker targets for January, after two South American stars were linked with moves to the Emirates.
The Gunners attempted to sign Cavani in the summer, but eventually failed to agree a deal with Paris Saint-Germain (via Metro). However, the Uruguayan is now desperate to leave Parc des Princes, and will do anything to ensure that he joins Arsene Wenger’s side, the Metro suggest.
The 28-year-old has made a fantastic start to the new campaign, having scored four goals in just five games to help Laurent Blanc’s men get their Ligue 1 title defence off to a flyer.
Meanwhile, Icardi’s move may be more of a challenge. The Metro report that the 22-year-old only signed a new deal at San Siro in June, and thus, will probably command a large transfer fee.
Unlike Cavani, the Argentina international has not made an impact during this campaign. However, he is set to return to Roberto Mancini’s team for the Milan derby after sustaining a thigh injury during the opening day victory over Atalanta (via FourFourTwo).
Should he shine against the Rossoneri, Arsene Wenger may decide to give a January bid the green light.
