DM- Santi Cazorla
The little magician adapted wonderfully well to being dropped slightly deeper, and providing some flair to complement Francis Coquelin’s fight. The holding role allowed him to showcase his delightful array of passing, and gave him the opportunity to run with the ball, and force gaps to emerge in front of him for his teammates to exploit.
DM- Arturo Vidal
If you combined the best parts of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla – who enjoyed a good partnership in the latter half of last season – you would probably get a player that resembled Arturo Vidal. With Juventus, he has become one of the best box-to-box midfielders in Europe, due to his talent on the ball, and his ability to win it back should it be lost. According to the Metro, the Chilean has signed a five-year deal at the Emirates. The signing – should it happen – will also take a lot of the pressure off Coquelin, as the Frenchman had to carry so much responsibility last year.
RW- Aaron Ramsey
Injury meant that the Welshman missed the Christmas period. That point in the year can make or break a team’s title hopes, so having a player of his quality missing would have been a massive loss. If he can enjoy an uninterrupted season, then he will be able to form a solid partnership as part of the three that sit behind the main striker.
