AM- Mesut Ozil

The German responded to his critics perfectly last season. The energy provided by Alexis Sanchez allowed Ozil to play his natural game, where he can have the maximum impact on the match. He scored four goals and bagged five assists, which may be short of where he would like to be, but it is still a fairly decent return. And the form he carried into the latter stages of last season will give supporters confidence that he can start next year somewhere very near his best.

LW- Jack Wilshere

Injury was once again the story of Jack Wilshere’s season, as he missed around five months of the campaign. Once he returned, he showed what Arsenal had been missing in his absence, as he very quickly found his flair. The most encouraging moment of his season arguably came in his final match of the season, as he scored two incredible goals to help England to a win against Slovenia. His strikes inspired the turnaround in Ljubljana, and probably inspired him to work as hard as possible over the summer to make sure that he does not need to look back on another year and wonder what might have been.

ST- Alexis Sanchez

The former Barcelona man enjoyed an amazing first year at the club, but he will now be under an extreme amount of pressure to reproduce the form that saw him score 16 times in the Premier League in his debut season. While he was often deployed behind the striker last year, he has plenty of experience playing as the front man so should have no issues doing the job again. His desire to get onto the ball could see him drop into the midfield like Dennis Bergkamp would often do, giving opposition defenders a difficult choice of whether to go with them and leave space in behind, or let them go and watch them create a moment of magic.
