United boss Louis van Gaal had targeted the Brazilian international as the ideal man to bolster his defence ahead of the new season and sent a team of representatives out to Germany to sound him out about the possibility of a move to Old Trafford over the summer.
Van Gaal reportedly set aside around £20m to lure the 31-year-old away from the Alianz Arena after helping Bayern to secure another Bundesliga title.
However, Dante has knocked back the Red Devils in their interest as he believes he stands a better chance of picking up more silverware with Bayern.
“I’ve been in at least the semi-finals of the Champions League and the German Cup in each of these three years, and won the Bundesliga each time,” he said.
“It can hardly get any better than that.”
Danter joined Bayern back in 2012 from Borussia Monchengladbach, and has since gone on to chalk up 130 appearances for the club, scoring five goals along the way.
