4. Neymar – Santos to Barcelona (71.5m)
The Brazilian playmaker has taken practically no time to settle into life at the Nou Camp, and has now become part of arguably the best front three – along with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi – the modern game has seen. The trio were in sensational form this past season, with 81 goals between them in La Liga alone – 22 of which have come from the 23-year-old. He sealed Barca’s incredible treble with a goal with the last kick of the game in the Champions League final victory against Juventus.
3. Luis Suarez – Liverpool to Barcelona (£75m)
Despite missing the first five matches of the 2013/14 Premier League season, Suarez finished the campaign with 31 goals. His partnership with Daniel Sturridge helped the Reds come desperately close to clinching their first league crown since its rebranding in 1992. His efforts saw Barcelona come calling, but once again controversy kept him from the opening games of the campaign. Upon his return, he managed to score 16 goals in 27 La Liga games. Like Neymar, he would crown his season with a goal in the Champions League final.
