Manchester United to sign Italian wonderkid, face competition for Belgian starlet

Manchester United are on the brink of signing 16-year-old Luca Ercolani, while they are facing competition to sign Belgian starlet Youri Tielemans.

According to Metro, the Red Devils have agreed a transfer fee for Ercolani. The Italian is currently playing in Serie D (fourth tier league) with Forli FC. Ercolani plays as a centre back and will aparently cost United £50,000 after impressing on trial.

The 16-year-old seems to be a fan of the Red Devils, as he has posted pictures on his Instagram account wearing training outfits from the club.

United is also monitoring a young gun from Belgium, according to The Telegraph. Youri Tielemans has caught the eye of the club for some time now, as he’s been scouted extensively at Belgian giants Anderlecht.

But United are facing huge competition for Tielemans. PSG have been heavily interested and Juventus are reportedly preparing an offer of £11.4 million plus bonuses for the Anderlecht star.

The Serie A champions are ready to make an initial offer in order to enter into negotiations to land the Belgian in the summer. United, therefore, may have to act quick to land Tielemans. He has played a total of 85 top league matches already, recording 10 goals and 12 assists.
